I have heard this statement many times in my life that “Life is a stage, and we are living the script”. It makes so much more sense to me now than it was a few years ago. My question, however, is this; Whose Script are we living? The answer to this question is not far-fetched, because it depends on whom we allow writing our script. Some people live in other people’s shadows or allow others to determine their course. There is no problem emulating someone else’s life if the person lived to please God, but when the person you are imitating is living a life of complete deviation from God’s will, it becomes an issue. Who rules your heart? In the book of Romans 6:16, Apostle Paul made us understand that whomsoever we yield ourselves to, he is our master. “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” Romans 6:16 (KJV) You can either choose to follow God and use His wor...

Let us desist from making anything else or anyone else to be your God. God is a jealous God and every time we, His children try to make anything else, or anyone more important than Him, we get ourselves into trouble. So many examples from the Bible stressed this message but I will concentrate on stories from the second book of Chronicles. The second book of Chronicles relates stories about different kings of Israel and Judah, from King Solomon to his son, Rehoboam, to Jeroboam, Abijah and so on, to the likes of King Jehoshaphat and others after him. One thing was clear from these accounts, which I found very scary; God was never happy when the kings deviated from His precepts and sought help from somewhere else. I was amazed at the age of some of these kings. Some of them were as young as 7 years old, yet, God still required total trust from them. Joash in 2 Chronicles 24:1-2, was 7 years old, and he did what was right in the sight of the Lord. So, it doesn't matter the age ...

“Let Judah Go First” Judges 1-2 King James Version (KJV) 1 Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the Lord , saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them? 2 And the Lord said Judah, shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand. We've often heard the phrase "When the praises go up, the blessings come down". It simply connotes putting praises before request, as exemplified by the simple prayer Jesus taught his disciples in Matthew 6:9-13 9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but ...

It is with great joy that I welcome you to my blog! Together, we will be exploring issues relating to 'matters of the heart', especially from a biblical point of view. The heart is a delicate part of the body and needs to be carefully guarded. Studies have shown that if we misuse the heart, it can lead to various kinds of illnesses, diseases, and even death. The Bible, in Proverbs 24:3 says; " Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." (NIV) In these days of numerous sources of information, we can be caught up in issues that we have no business dealing with. How can we manage the flow of information so that we can be ' toxic free '? The answer is dependent on us, and the choices we make on a daily basis with the information we gather.
